Avery, a proud product of Moose Jaw, Canada, tossed 13 shutout innings this week. In doing so, the 22-year-old earned back-to-back wins for the first time this season. On Monday, Avery hurled six scoreless frames against Lakeland. On Sunday, he fired a complete-game seven-inning shutout against a decidedly non-miraculous Fort Myers team.
