Top 4 draft picks outlook
1. Drew Stubbs, OF, Texas, 10-4-1984
Kevin Goldstein of Baseball Prospectus "As the draft saying goes, it only takes one, and that one was Cincinnati, who were looking at some college arms, but went with Stubbs when the pitchers they liked were all gone. In Stubbs' defense, he's not the best position player right now, but he has the highest ceiling".
Drew Stubbs did everything well in college. He could hit for average and for power. He could steal you bases. He has a very good throwing arm. He plays gold glove caliber defense. The only question on Stubbs is whether or not he will hit with a wooden bat against professional pitching.

2. Sean Watson, RP, Tennessee, 7-24-1985
Watson came to Tennessee as a starter and was converted to a reliever. He seemed to have a bit of control problems his first two years with a lot of walks, but his 3rd year he had a much better walk ratio.
Watson has a good arsenal of pitches. He throws a fastball from 92-95 and has a very nasty knuckle-curve. The knock on Watson has been that it sometimes seems like he doesnt care when he is out on the mound. The Astros were considering taking Watson in the first round, but passed and the Reds picked him up in the second. Lets hope the Astros will regret that one.

3. Christopher Valaika, SS, UC Santa Barbara, 8-14-1985
Well, Baseball America thinks we got a good find with Valaika in the 3rd round. They think he could move quickly through the system.
Valaika was named Big West Freshman of the Year and Freshman All-American 2004.He .347, 7 HR and had 38 RBI. He also led the team in total bases (119), doubles (15) and extra-base hits (25). As a sophomore, he tore his ACL and only played in 18 games before the injury. Coming back from that he put up these stats this season before being drafted.
