4/18/2006 Minor League scores/recaps

Dayton beats Quad Cities 8-0
  • Paul Janish went 1-4 with an RBI, while Michael Griffin went 0-4 but had 2 RBIs. Jay Bruce went 1-2, while walking twice. BJ Szymanski scored twice, but went 0-4 with a walk. Carlos Fisher made the start for the Dragons and went 6 strong innings of 1 hit, 1 walk and 4 strikeout baseball.
Sarasota loses to Clearwater 6-1
  • The Reds managed only 3 hits and 1 run against Clearwater tonight. Zack Segovia went 8 innings and only allowed 2 hits for Clearwater. Sam Lecure pitched for the Reds, only going 5 innings. He allowed 5 hits and 1 walk, struck out 5. He also gave up 4 runs.
Chattanooga wins 10-8 in 10 innings over Mobile
  • The Lookouts had 4 players with multiple hits. Joey Votto was not one of them. Votto went 0-6 tonight in the win for the Lookouts. Aaron Herr went 2-5 with a home run and 4 RBI. Tyler Pelland got no help at all from his defense. He only lasted 3.2 innings and gave up 7 runs on 5 hits. The problem was, not a single one of the runs were earned. Calvin Medlock came in to pitch the 9th inning and picked up the win.
Louisville takes down Syracuse in 11 innings
  • The bottom of the 11th started out with Ray Olmedo getting hit by a pitch. He was then sacraficed to second base by Chris Denorfia. Jesse Gutierrez was intentionally walked to get to new Louisville Bat, Andy Abad. Abad comes through in the clutch with a double to win the game in the bottom of the 11th inning.
