Good/Bad things so far in the season

Dayton
Good

• Paul Janish is hitting .440, not bad for a guy who was supposed to be all leather.
  
• Jay Bruce is hitting .308, slugging .513 and has 6 extra base hits.
• Zach Ward has a 2.45 ERA, Travis Wood has a 3.12 ERA and 15 strikeouts in 8.2 innings.
• Philippe-Alexandre Valiquette has a 1.12 ERA through 8 innings.

Bad

• BJ Szymanski is hitting .152 and has 18 strikeouts in 33 at bats.
• Zach Ward has 6 walks and just 5 strikeouts in 11 innings.
• With the exclusion of Haltiwanger and Stott, the bullpen has been attrocious.
• 2-7 is the teams record.

Sarasota
Good

• Adam Rosales is hitting .321 and slugging .536 while getting on base at a clip of .424.
• Jay Garthwaite has 3 HR and 10 RBI in 9 games this season.
• Sam Lecure and James Avery have ERA's of 2.45 and 2.53 respectively. Lecure has 15 strikeouts in 11 innings.
• Homer Bailey has yet to issue a walk in 10.2 innings and has struck out 10.
• Camilo Vazquez has an ERA of 1.00 and 11 strikeouts in 9 innings.

Bad

• John Purdom, Drew Anderson, Mark Schramek and Cody Strait are all hitting under .200 in a combined 30 games.

Chattanooga
Good

• Joey Votto is hitting .343, has 3 HR and has 3 walks and just 4 strikeouts in 35 at bats. He is also slugging .686.
• Phil Dumatrait has only pitched one outting, but it was a good one. 1 hit, 5 strikeouts over 6 innings.

Bad

• Miguel Perez is hitting .120
• Only 2 Lookout players are hitting over .250
• Tyler Pelland and Travis Chick have ERAs over 5.00.

Louisville
Good

• Chris Denorfia and Rob Stratton are both hitting over .300 with slugging percentages over .500
• Justin Germano has an ERA under 4

Bad

• The Bats still only have 4 guys, 3 are pitchers, under the age of 24 on the team.
• Elizardo Ramirez has an ERA over 6

What does all of this mean? Absolutely nothing at all. It is just 8 or 9 games into the minor league season. It means some guys are performing well for a week, and other are not. Some guys need to do lots of improving, but its still early.
