Drew Stubbs and Michael McKennon collide, get concussions

The most dramatic play of the night occurred in the seventh inning when McKennon and Stubbs collided violently in the left-center field gap chasing a ball off the bat of Luis Rivera.

The two outfielders were sprinting towards the sharply hit ball, but before either could get there, they crushed each other.

Both players laid in the outfield for several minutes with teammates and coaches attending to them before walking off on their own power.

The initial word was that each player had a concussion. McKennon was said to have a bruised left leg.

"It was a bad collision, obviously," Burleson said. "They both called for the ball at the same time, but they didn't hear each other."

It wasn't immediately known if either will be in the lineup tonight.
